Government Relations & Municipal Law

The Government Relations and Municipal Law practice group of Burch Porter has a unique blend of experience working on behalf of both the public and private sectors. Because of the experience of our lawyers representing municipalities such as the City of Germantown, and the Town of Collierville, our practitioners have a keen understanding of the issues that public sector decision-makers face in a wide array of areas. In addition, members of the firm have broad-reaching national connections and relationships that are utilized to help clients address issues in Washington and state capitals across the nation. One of the firm’s members, W.J. Michael Cody, continues his affiliation with the National Association of Attorneys General, an organization he once chaired. Burch Porter is able to assist clients with issues of state regulation across the United States in a direct and cost-effective manner. Several of the firm’s lawyers have served as counsel for clients prosecuting legislative and regulatory interests in Washington and Nashville.
