Elena R. Mosby (Peters) practices in the areas of labor and employment law, white collar and government investigations, and corporate and business litigation. Her passions lie in litigation, compliance, and their intersection.
Prior to joining Burch, Porter & Johnson, Elena served as a law clerk to the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale (United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit) and the Honorable Kristi H. Johnson (United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi). She also worked for the Honorable Michael K. Randolph (Supreme Court of Mississippi) during law school.
Elena is a native Memphian and attended Rhodes College. After graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C., to work for the Department of Justice. As a member of the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section, she traveled across the country to assist prosecutors and federal agents investigate and prosecute health care fraud. Elena participated in over five federal jury trials and also assisted the Fraud Section’s Deepwater Horizon Taskforce in implementing a process safety monitorship for a Fortune 500 company.
Elena then attended the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court and Negotiation Boards. She won multiple Outstanding Student, oral advocacy, and professionalism awards before graduating in the top of her class in 2021.
