We are pleased to congratulate Lani Lester, a BPJ Associate, on her selection as one of the Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 for 2022.
Each year, the newspaper selects 40 individuals who go beyond excellence in their own workplace to contribute to the community in various ways. In addition to building a thriving practice as a litigator and expert in municipal law, Lester lends her pro bono legal expertise to the boards of the Community Legal Center, Memphis Challenge and the Memphis Bar Association. She has also been honored for her work on behalf of tenants facing eviction because of circumstances caused by COVID-19.
“Our firm has a long tradition of serving the community as well as our clients, and we are proud that Lani’s passion for fairness and her excellent legal work has led to her being chosen as part of this impressive group,” said Nathan Bicks, BPJ managing partner. “Lani combines unique skills of being a great legal technician with a wonderful ability to communicate and engage with people. We look forward to watching her expertise and influence grow in the years to come.”
Said Tannera George Gibson, BPJ Member and President of the Memphis Bar Association, “Lani is constantly honing her craft and is committed to competently and zealously representing her clients. The community benefits because Lani, who could easily have taken her talents elsewhere, has remained here to work in the community for its improvement.”
Lester, a native Memphian, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. She joined BPJ in 2016, where her practice focuses on business and commercial litigation and municipal law.
